During the past months, we have run into a few issues in terms of expiring submissions to our group. Hence, we would like to increase the circle of moderators (or, as they are called here, "Contributors"). Essentially, we are seeking very active and highly motivated individuals that would like to become Contributors of our group.
Becoming a contributor will give you both the opportunity to become more involved into the Space/Sci-Fi-community as well as the chance to meet new people. Additionally, you will become a helping hand at promoting fellow artists.
We are a group dedicated to Space and Sci-Fi. However, our goal is to be more: we want to become a vital part, a harbor, for the Space- and Sci-Fi-community. Therefore, it is essential to have an active core that radiates motivation, creativity, and, most importantly, a friendly atmosphere. You are, of course, welcome to transcend these bounds and help the community to grow and expand
Essential criteria:
What you have to expect:
First and foremost, the processing of gallery-submissions on a daily basis. We are a middle-sized group with over 2000 members, so we require you to go through your message center frequently. You will have to get familiar with the group's criteria (if you submit regularly, you should already be ) and apply it objectively on each submission.
Once again, we are seeking active and passionate individuals. People that visit dA maybe once a week or those that violently ignore their message center do not need to apply in first place.
There will be times where you'll have to decline submissions. It is natural to make such decisions and you do not need to be afraid of declining and/or sending messages explaining why the piece is not suited (spoiler: most declines happen due to images being submitted to the wrong category).
It makes no difference if you already have experience with the groups-message-system or not. We will be happy to show you the ways around!
Contributors are welcomed and encouraged to become a vital part of the community by running new activities, helping to scout new talents, or something completely different. We are looking for dedicated, creative individuals that are willing to donate their time to the development of The-Final-Frontier and to help promoting fellow artists.
If you are interested in joining the team, please leave a comment below this blog and tell us what you can contribute to this group and how much time you are willing to invest. Alternatively, you may also send a note to the group or to me (BLPH), we'll take proper care of it
Thank you for your time!

Essential criteria:
An adequate gallery. Our focus lies on Space Art and Science-Fiction. Therefore, having a significant portion of your gallery filled with images in these categories is a prerequisite.
Time. We need volunteers that visit the group on a frequent and consistent basis.
Objectivity. Being able to judge submissions solely based on the group's criteria and without and prejudices is a must.
Activity. Be a role model, show that you, as a contributor of this group, are an active part of the community.

New Folder: Photography
Hey there,
it's been a while since the last journal and I thought I'd share a few things about this group. First and foremost, thank you to everyone that has decided to become a member of The-Final-Frontier (https://www.deviantart.com/the-final-frontier), your support is greatly appreciated! :thanks:
Now, onto the most notable change: we have now added a new gallery-folder called "Photography"! This is for everybody that wishes to submit their photographs of celestial scenery to the group. Previously, we had to decline several great pieces simply because they did not fit into the rigid structure set up. We hope this will help bringing in some great additions to the group's gallery. :la:

I have some, from years ago. I am definitely interested in doing more. As of right now, I am very active (on almost every night for hours at a time, except every other weekend I take some time away from the computer). I even tried to start my own group because I had so much time. Alas not many members in it, so not much to do. *le sigh*
I would love to be more active in this. I will re-acquaint myself with the submission criteria and I'll even make a few more pieces. I'm using a different program than before, so I'll have to look through the tutorials again and adapt some of the techniques I learned before.
